Albert Markus
This Valentine’s Day was extra special for Albert Markus, who celebrated his 100th birthday after regaining his independence at San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital!
Albert’s journey began when a fall in his garden led to a stay at a skilled nursing facility. While he was making progress, he needed more intensive rehabilitation to regain his strength and safely return home. That’s when he was referred to San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital.
San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital is an inpatient medical rehabilitation hospital that provides specialized care to help patients rebuild strength, mobility, and independence. With a team of expert rehab physicians and therapists, each patient receives intensive, personalized therapy. For Albert, this meant improving his balance, endurance, and confidence—ensuring he could safely return to the life he loves
Now, Albert is looking forward to getting back to his favorite activities: Sunday church services with his wife, morning coffee at McDonald’s with his best friend, and monthly Bingo nights at Denny’s with his fellow Electrician’s Union friends.
We were honored to have been part of Albert’s journey and hope his 100th birthday was filled with joy and celebration!
